Archeological detectors are important tools for archaeologists because they allow them to "see" into the ground and detect buried artifacts without digging and destroying a site, giving them a better idea of where to dig.

TreasureHunter3D offers many different kinds of products that are based on principles that successfully assist archaeologists in uncovering buried artifacts for years, combined with the latest technologies like augmented reality, artificial intelligence, precise GPS positioning, and drones that make archeological work easier and provide even more accurate results.

Magnetometry

Magnetometry is a technique that studies variations in the Earth's geomagnetic field, and it can reveal ancient structures and objects hiding beneath the surface. By measuring the effects buried materials have upon the geomagnetic field, magnetometers can detect the magnetic fields that buried objects produce. Magnetometers can also reveal what an object is made of and how much iron the object has inside of it.

Ground penetrating radar

GPR works by transmitting electromagnetic pulses into the ground, which then reflect off features in the subsurface and are detected by a receiver antenna. By measuring the strength and time delay of the responses, GPR can help archaeologists estimate the depth and location of buried structures and objects.

Classic VLF and PI metal detectors

Metal detectors can detect metal objects buried beneath the surface, such as coins, tools, and weapons. They provide the most accuracy when it comes to mental discrimination, able to detect very small objects, but can only penetrate 0.5m deep. Between the two categories, VLF detectors are the most popular, because they are most versatile.

TreasureHunter3D offers three types of detector products:

Treasure Detectors that are light and portable with 3D object visualization

TreasureDetectors3D products are lightweight and portable, capable of detecting targets up to 35m/100ft in depth, detecting metallic and non-metallic objects, and displaying object size, shape and depth. Objects can be visualized in 2D and 3D on any smartphone and also mapped in real-world environments using the augmented reality scan feature, which also provides the best resolution available on the market.

Pros:

  • provides 3D visualization of buried objects mapped on the real-world environment

  • detects metallic and non-metallic objects that are buried 114ft/35m in depth

  • provides export of scan data in standard format that can be imported into the most popular 3D mapping software for further processing and analysis

Cons:

  • not suitable for detecting small objects - when searching for a single coin on the beach

Treasure Detector that can be attached to drone

DroneRover product is a treasure detector that can be attached to drone to perform automated scanning of larger even inaccessible areas.

Findings can be visualized in 2D and 3D and/or exported to 3D mapping software for further processing.

Pros:

  • 3D visualization of buried object mapped on the real-world environment

  • detects metallic and non-metallic objects that are buried 100ft/30m in depth

  • enables users to remotely and automatically scan larger or inaccessible areas

  • provides export of scan data in standard format that can be imported into the most popular 3D mapping software for further processing and analysis

Cons:

  • not suitable for detecting small objects - when searching for a single coin on the beach

  • depth penetration decreases with drone distance from the ground surface

  • not suitable for detecting in windy environments, inside the building, or in very populated areas like cities

Classic VLF metal detectors with 3D object visualization

GoldHunter is the first VLF metal detector that provides 2D/3D object visualization in real-time on your smartphone.

It is capable of detecting & discriminating metallic objects and with a detection depth of 0.5m.

Pros:

  • 3D visualization of buried object mapped on the real-world environment

  • small and middle-size objects buried 0.5m deep like gold and silver coins, bracelets, artifacts

  • provides the best discrimination between different metals

Cons:

  • not able to detect objects that are buried deep

  • not able to detect non-metallic objects
